Very interesting, D’Arcy. The resurrection of part of South Fountain is something I was so happy to see when I returned to Springfield. And now I know a few of the people who’ve done the hard work of reclaiming that area. Thank you for introducing me to them!

You're welcome! I wanted to buy a house there when we first moved to Springfield but it didn't work out. Still wish that had happened but this house is a gem too. Jeff and Richele are treasures.

Long time friends are irreplaceable and they do fit a different category!

I totally agree, Mary Ellen. I learned a lot from talking to those folks in the story. Real love is about trust and vulnerability. We need both to expand our hearts to others. Thank you for commenting.

So much I can relate to in this story…marriages, empty nester, needing something other than my lovely husband, and true friendships. Thank you for sharing.

So glad this resonated with you. I was lucky to bump into Richele, Jeff, Steve and Anne. Fabulous people! I wish I'd been more secure in my younger years about giving people I loved the "space" they needed.

I went to school with Steve! What a lovely story. Springfield, a community, that I sometimes fail to appreciate until I read your stories. Thank you.

Thank you, Shelley! Steve remembers you! And YOU are one of the reasons why Springfield turned out to be such a good place for me to land. I still want to write a story about your family...the folks who took a taxi from Kentucky and got out at Springfield, when the money ran out. Fun, fun story and says so much about the people you come from.
